I’d been told my entire life that I was a “winter,” because I had fair skin and brown hair –but the colors didn’t always work. I tried to do my own color analysis, but I ended up with a similar result. Thanks to Patricia, I found my true colors! And she’s been incredibly supportive with my questions as I re-train my eyes to recognize what’s too bright or too soft, and what is just right for me. “Having my analysis done was hard for me as I had one done a few years ago and the analysis just always seemed a bit off. I was told I was a true autumn, but the colours weren’t quite right for me and I didn’t know why and was hesitant to spend the money again. I actually feel some embarrassment and even a bit of shame in regards to my colour journey. I have often felt like there is something wrong with me that I just don’t “know” what colours are in harmony with my colouring and also that I care so much about getting it right. As an artist who loves colour, I can decorate a home that harmonizes, paint beautiful landscapes etc, yet I have always struggled with creating a wardrobe that I love, where the pieces fit my shape, lifestyle, taste and the colours suit my colouring. I am not looking for compliments, though the compliments can affirm if I am going in the right direction. In the past when people would say “I love that colour on you” I knew that meant the colour was wearing me and it was perhaps overpowering for my colouring. I also would pay attention to when people would say I looked under the weather or tired, and if it was consistent with certain pieces I knew that colour was totally wrong for me. There have been a few times where I would wear a certain colour and people would say “wow your eyes!”, or “you sparkle” or “you are glowing”. Then I knew I had the right colour for me. Once those pieces wore out I would struggle to find that colour again in another piece as I never saved the fabric or got a colour chip to help find it again. I wanted to get my colour analysis done because I want my outer appearance to be in harmony with who I am and for me that includes knowing and understanding what colours suit me. I am so excited with the colours in my palette. I am so pleased to see some pinks, purples,blues and greens. Not just browns, oranges and yellows.I had previously been told I was a true autumn, yet that pallete left me feeling blah and depressed. There were very few colours in it that I wanted to wear! The SWD palette feels right and I get excited when I see all the colours in it! I find the full colour fan overwhelming, so I put a smaller one together using the “4 particularly attractive” and my best colours. I love how much variety is in just those and it is much more manageable to take with me shopping. I do feel a bit embarrassed and conspicuous that I take it out while looking at clothes. That is me judging myself and worrying what others think. I tend to mainly shop at thrift stores and consignment stores and using the colour fan has significantly reduced my time searching for clothes and I love that! “

I needed an anniversary gift for my girlfriend and could not have chosen better! Patricia was a delight in the whole process. Since it needed to stay a surprise, she helped me pick the most suitable pictures from our existing collection. She also made sure that everything was on time for the anniversary, taking into account it had to be shipped to Europe. I worked with Patricia this summer for my color analysis, and I highly recommend her to anyone considering having this service done. First and foremost, she is a lovely and elegant lady, and highly knowledgeable in color. She was very responsive and presented the material and answered my questions in a way that I could understand. I am not an artistic personality, so this subject matter is not natural to me, but she guided me through the analysis, and I am very happy with the results. I am also not the easiest client because I did have a lot of questions and at the beginning was disappointed in the category into which I fell. I had envisioned something different. But she showed me how the colors in my category work with my overall hair, eyes, and skin profile, even explaining the nuances. Now I love my colors and am excited to start shopping for new pieces that will enhance my wardrobe. And the whole process was fun!
